Arup Bhandari murder case: Fifth convict arrested

Kolkata: Justice delayed is definitely not justice denied. The fifth convicted and perhaps the last person associated with the Arup Bhandari Murder case has finally been arrested by the Howrah police on Monday. Anand Prasad, the fifth convicted in the case has been arrested from the adjoining areas of Howrah Station this morning. As per police sources, Anand will be kept in the police custody for interrogation purpose. He might be produced before the Howrah Magistrate Court on Friday.

Arup Bhandari’s father had lodged the FIR against the five convicts who killed Arup on protesting against eve teasing on the eve of Saraswati Puja. The first convict was arrested by the police from the adjoining state. The rest three surrendered before the Howrah Police. The final absconding Anand Prasad was arrested by the Howrah Police detectives this morning.
