Army Jawan Injured In Accidental Gun Fires In J&K


Srinagar: An army jawan was injured due to accidental fire from his weapon along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Friday.

The jawan was on duty at a forward post along the LoC when his rifle went off accidentally in Mankote belt, defence sources said.

He was rushed to hospital for treatment, they said.

Earlier on Thursday a civilian got injured, when he was hit by a sniper shot, fired from across the Line of Control (LOC) by the Pakistani Army near Ashoka border post in Nowshera Sector.

The injured person is identified as Sushil Kumar, resident of Sarya (Janghar) in Nowshera. He has been shifted to Nowshera Army Hospital.
