Srinagar: Army has foiled an infiltration bid by Pakistan’s Border Action Team (BAT) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Keran sector on Tuesday. Pakistan’s BAT tried to infiltrate 7 to 8 armed intruders around 1 pm in Kupwara district and attacked an Indian post there.
No casualty has been reported so far. The Indian Army retaliated with full force and thwarted the infiltration attempt, forcing the intruders to retreat.
The BAT’s infiltration bid was supported by mortal shelling and firing of small arms from nearby Pakistan posts.Exchange of firing from both sides of the border is underway.
Earlier, Security forces foiled an infiltration bid by terrorists on Tuesday in the Zorawar area of Uri district in Jammu and Kashmir. As per report, at least one terrorist was killed and a weapon has also been recovered. Forces are continuing with combing operations.
