Mumbai:  After Indian Army’s surgical strikes, Pakistani actors banned by Indian film industry body ‘until normalcy returns’ along the border. Before, The Raj Thackeray-led MNS party’s call to ban Pakistani actors has not exactly received an overwhelming response from the film industry.

While Karan Johar has said that banning actors will not stop terrorism and is not the solution, others have refused to directly comment on the issue.

When asked about the call for ban, Kangana said, “Right now we are very overwhelmed with the loss of our soldiers, our jawans and our sons. So the country is not in that (frame of mind). It’s very hard to be objective right now. But we hope that the love and art prevail. Right now we can’t expect people to be objective. It’s such a big loss.”

John and Sonakshi on their part initially declined to comment on the political ban called by MNS. But when we asked if a statement from Pakistani actors condemning the attacks should be forthcoming and expected, John said, “It is important to what we do.

We are not in a position to opinionate about what others do. We can only speak for ourselves. Sonakshi can speak for herself. Whether she goes through her emotions or we go through our emotions, what we express is solely our opinion and we are fortunate to be a part of this film industry and it’s important we go out there and express our solidarity with our country and soldiers who are the true heroes of our country.”Agreeing with John, Sonakshi said, “We can only speak for ourselves and do our job and stand by our own people which is what we are doing.”
