Kolkata: According to Nielsen survey, Arjun Singh, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from the Barrackpore Lok Sabha constituency, who recently switched to the saffron outfit from the Trinamool Congress may win the LS Elections with 55 percent vote.
Dinesh Trivedi has contested against Arjun Singh. Originally Arjun Singh left TMC because of the dispute over candidate selection. Arjun Singh has challenged opposition candidate Dinesh Trivedi. Arjuna Singh confidently said that”I am 24 hours with the people and I am beside the danger of people so I will surely win the elections.”
According to the Nielsen survey, Arjun Singh is going to get 55 percent of the total vote. On the other hand, Trinamool and CPM candidates can get 22 and 19 percent votes respectively. Congress may hold three percent vote.
The survey was conducted from March 15 to March 22. However, if the result of this survey is proved to be true then the TMC will not be able to win 42 seats. The BJP’s Arjun Singh claimed on Tuesday that about 100 Trinamool Congress legislators are ready to switch over to his party in West Bengal, inviting stinging remarks from the leaders of his former organization.
Singh, the former four-time Trinamool MLA from Bhatpara, switched to the Bharatiya Janata Party earlier this month and was rewarded with a ticket from the Barrackpore parliamentary constituency for the Lok Sabha election 2019. He is up against sitting member of Parliament and senior Trinamool leader Dinesh Trivedi.
“About 100 legislators from the ruling party are set to join the BJP. Some will join before the (Lok Sabha) elections, the rest after,” Singh said on Tuesday. Asked whether the list includes ministers, too, Singh remarked, “I won’t comment. If I say yes, they may lose their jobs.”
