New Delhi: The V9 is Vivo’s first notched smartphone in India and comes with a brand new design language. Vivo’s newest mid-range smartphone, the V9, is now available through offline channels.
While the company had previously said the phone would be available online starting April 2, it now appears that e-commerce platforms like Amazon India and Flipkart will start selling the device only from April 5, but you can pre-order them now.
Priced at Rs 22,900, the V9 will take on the likes of the Xiaomi Note 5 Pro, which is notably cheaper than Vivo’s phone, as well as recent phones from Oppo, among others. Before you decide to buy the Vivo V9, there are a few things you may want to keep in mind. Here’s a look at some of them.
The V9 sports a fairly bright and colourful 6.3-inch (1080×2280) LCD display with a tall 19:9 display made possible thanks to a notch on top. The rear panel also sees a vertical dual rear camera setup placed on the top left corner.
Powering the V9 is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Storage is expandable up to 256GB via a dedicated micro-SD card slot.
The V9 also comes with AI Face Access that improves the accuracy of the face unlock feature. However, the company has also said that its facial recognition feature isn’t as secure as the fingerprint scanner, so you will want to rely on the latter a little more.
The phone uses artificial intelligence in other ways as well. A feature called AI Smart Engine boosts the phone’s performance over time through smart storage management and app launching based on user behaviour.
Additionally, the cameras are supported by phase detection autofocus and LED flash. Up front, you get a whopping 24-megapixel selfie camera with screen flash and support for 1080p video recording.
