New Delhi: Late last month, Apple iPhone 6 quietly popped up on some e-commerce websites in several countries in an all-new 32GB avatar. In India too, the smartphone appeared in an exclusive listing on Amazon’s website.
Now, the Cupertino-based technology company seems to have launched smartphone through its official channel partners in India. These include Beetel, Ingram, Rashi Peripherals and Redington.
With these distributors on board, the new iPhone 6 32GB model is set to hit offline stores across the country as well as go on sale on other e-commerce websites. According to some media reports, retailers in Bengaluru have already started selling the smartphone. iPhone 6 32GB sports an MRP of Rs 30,700. Apple had launched iPhone 6 in 2014 in three storage variants – 16GB, 64GB and 128GB.
Incidentally, the iPhone 6 32GB (Space Gray colour only) was available for Rs 28,999 on Amazon India’s website at the time of its launch. The e-commerce website is still selling the handset at the same price as ‘limited time offer’. There’s also an exchange offer of up to Rs 7,115 available on the smartphone.
On specifications front, iPhone 6 runs iOS 10 out of the box and features a 4.7-inch HD Retina display. The smartphone is powered by the Apple A8 chipset clocked at 1.8GHz, clubbed with 1GB RAM. There is also a 32GB inbuilt storage with a single nano-SIM card support. On the camera front the iPhone 6 32GB model includes an 8MP rear and a 1.2MP front-facing camera. Backed by a 1810mAh battery, the smartphone weighs 399 gram and offers Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and 3.5mm headphone jack as connectivity option.
Earlier this week, Apple also launched 32GB variant of its 4-inch iPhone, iPhone SE, at Rs 27,200 in India. The smartphone so far came only in 16GB and 64GB models. Globally, the company also introduced a 128GB storage variant of the smartphone, however, its India price is still to be announced.
