Another winter storm to hit eastern US

Washington D.C: Threatening to bring in more misery in US, a fresh band of winter weather was pounding the eastern part of the country. According to the weather department, a winter storm warning in effect until February 22 for parts of southern Indiana, Ohio, West Virginia and Western Pennsylvania has been issued. The icy weather triggered multiple accidents on a major highway in northern Alabama on Friday backing up traffic for miles in both directions for most of the day and night.

In the capitol, the storm laid another blanket of snow on the White House Saturday, atop the layer that had fallen earlier in the week. The storm broke a 119-year-old record low temperature for February 20 in Washington, dropping to minus 15 degrees Celsius. Another blast of Arctic air will follow the storm system, with well-below freezing temperatures in store on Monday for millions of people along the East Coast.
