Kolkata: Anandalok Hospital authorities have decided to shut down 18 of their branches after they received a letter from the Provident Fund Commissioner asking them to pay the dues. Many patients have been admitted to Anandalok Hospital situated at Karunamoyee. There is a question how these patients would be treated and where they would be shifted.
It was learnt that around 120 patients are still undergoing treatment at the hospital of which around 48 are likely to undergo operations on Tuesday. The hospital authorities have already written their letter to the Chief Minister stating their inability to run the hospitals. It may be mentioned that Anandalok Hospital used to treat patients comparatively at lower cost.
