New Delhi: Honor India is on a roll. The Chinese smartphone maker recently launched the Honor 10 in India for Rs 32,999 to take on the newly launched OnePlus 6 which sells for a starting price of Rs 34,999. The company is now gearing up to take over the budget segment by launching the upcoming Honor 7C and Honor 7A in India today. The Honor 7A is likely to take on Xiaomi’s Redmi 5, while 7C will compete with the Redmi Note 5. Both the smartphones have already been launched in China previously, so we more or less know the specs of the phones. But, it is likely that the India variants of the phones will come with completely new specs sheet. As far as the pricing details are concerned, both the upcoming Honor phones are expected to be priced under Rs 10,000.
The launch of the Honor 7A and Honor 7C is set to happen today at 11:30AM in an event in New Delhi. The launch event will be livestreamed on the company’s YouTube, Facebookand Twitter channel. Both the Honor 7A and 7C will be selling as Flipkart exclusive products. The availability date is yet to be revealed by the company.
Honor 7A specs
The Honor 7A is expected to be a cheaper model in India, when compared to 7C. The smartphone sports a 5.7-inch HD+ IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 720×1440 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The device runs Android 8.0 Oreo based Huawei’s own EMUI 8.0 on top out-of-the-box. Honor 7A is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor paired with Adreno 505 GPU. In China, the smartphone is available in two RAM variants – 2GB RAM and 3GB RAM. Both the models of the phone will come with 32GB of internal storage which can be expandable up to 256GB via microSD card. We can expect Honor to bring the same model to the Indian market as well. Honor 7A sports a single 13-megapixel CMOS sensor on the rear, while on the front it includes has an 8-megapixel camera coupled with a soft LED flash. Both the front and back camera are backed by AI-based features. The phone comes with a 3000mAh battery, a 3.5mm headphone jack and fingerprint sensor.
Honor 7C specs
Honor 7C is a much bigger phone compared to the 7A. The smartphone, in contrary to the 7A, comes with a 5.99-inch HD+ IPS display with a resolution of 720×1440 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The display of the phone is covered with a 2.5D curved glass on top which will protect the phone from scratches and other external physical damages. The Honor 7C comes with dual-SIM (Nano) support and runs Android 8.0 Oreo-based Huawei’s own EMUI 8.0 on top. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor. In China, the phone comes only in one RAM variant with 3GB RAM and two storage options including – 32GB and 64GB. On the camera front, the Honor 7C comes with a dual camera set up on the rear. The phone consists of a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor which are paired with an autofocus lens and an aperture of f/2.2. On the front, the phone comes equipped with an 8-megapixel sensor paired with an f/2.0 aperture. Similar to the 7A, the phone comes with a 3000mAh battery, a 3.5mm headphone jack and fingerprint sensor.
