Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa is ‘very critical’ on Monday after she suffered a cardiac arrest on Sunday evening, said the health bulletin issued by the Apollo Hospital.
The Apollo Hospital spokesperson said that CM Jayalalitha remains very critical & is on ECMO and other life support systems, being closely observed.
A press release as issued by the Apollo Hospitals said:
‘The Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu who suffered a cardiac arrest yesterday evening, continuous to be very critical and is on ECMO and other life support systems. The Honourable Chief Minister is being treated and closely monitored by a team of Experts.’
CM Jayalalithaa suffered a cardiac arrest on Sunday evening which has lead to the assembling of huge number of her followers and fans at the hospital. Security has been tightened in Chennai to avoid any unaccountable circumstances. As per reports by TOI, several schools declared Sunday as a holiday over the CM’s worsening health. Security was also heightened at the Kerala – Tamil Nadu border.
