Amitabh Thakur to approach Home Min for CBI probe

Lucknow: With the tussel between Senior IPS officer Amitabh Thakur and Samajwadi Party Chief Mulaym Singh Yadav taking an ugly turn with each passing day, the officer is scheduled to meet Union Home Ministry officials on Monday with a request for a CBI probe into the issue of him being accused by a Ghaziabad-based woman of rape. Thakur will be approaching the Union Home Ministry after an FIR was filed against him.

He has accused the Samajwadi Party Chief of Conspiring against him as the FIR was lodged a day after he alleged that Mulayam had threatened him. According to Thakur, Mulayam had asked him to “mend his ways” after his wife went to the Lokayukta, accusing the Uttar Pradesh Samajwadi Party government of corruption.

He also said that Yadav’s relative Sri Ramvir Singh is conspiring an attack on him. He had also alleged that Yadav had threatened him with bad consequences if he didn’t follow his orders.
