New Delhi: Minutes after he was arrested for allegedly assaulting a woman, Indian cricketer Amit Mishra has been granted bail from Bangalore Police. Mishra was taken in custody after a three-hour long interrogation. The Indian legspinner was accused of physically assaulting a woman friend last month when he was in Bengaluru during a training camp.
On a single complaint from a woman, they arrest the accused man without investigation. So unfairn Amit said. In a complaint registered with the Ashok Nagar police on 27th September, the woman has alleged that she was in Mishra’s room on 25th September when he walked in. The Ashok Nagar police have been investigating the case and have issued a notice to Mishra asking him to give his statements.
However, a few days back, the complainant had opted to withdraw the charges. “Two days after lodging the complaint, I approached the police station and told them that I have in principle decided to withdraw the case,” the complainant had. We were friends. We fought, and continue to remain friends here after,” she said.
