Lucknow: In another incident of statue vandalism, a statue of Bhimrao Ambedkar was damaged in Uttar Pradesh’s Ballia on Thursday.
According to the Superintendent of Police S P Ganguly, some anti-social elements damaged the statue. This is reported as the second such incident in a month in the same district.
According to reports, the face and a finger of the statue was damaged. However, the statue is being restored, as per the SP.
The SP further stated that a team of villagers, led by the gram pradhan, has been set up in order to ensure the security of the statue.
A statue of the Dalit icon was damaged in Kothiya village of the district on June 14.
