Kolkata: Nobel prize winner economist Amartya Sen again hit out at Prime Minister
Narendra Modi by calling him a ‘quarrelsome man’. In comparison of late Atal Bihari
Vajpayee with Modi, he harshly criticised Modi.
Several have considered Atal Bihari Vajpayee as the nation’s leader. Amartya Sen
praised several decisions taken by Vajpayee in taking the country forward. He
termed Vajpayee as the country’s one of the best leaders.
On this came the topic on the present PM of India. He replied that no comparison
can be made between them. He termed Modi as a quarrelsome man.
In July this year, Sen had said, “In view of economical advancement of the nation
in 2018, the country is slowly moving behind.” He opined that when the neighbouring
countries are moving forward, India is going backwards.”
These comments landed him in trouble especially among the saffron league.
