Amar Singh questioned on Sunanda murder case

New Delhi: Amar Singh was summoned by the Delhi Police’s Special Investigation Team regarding the Sunanda Pushkar death case on Wednesday. Amar Singh is a former Samajwadi Party leader. “SIT has informed me that Amar Singh has been called in for questioning. He is being quizzed,” said Delhi Police chief BS Bassi.

Amar Singh said that Sunanda Pushkar had accepted the blame for IPL mishaps. The investigators are examining whether the IPL controversy had it’s link with Sunanda’s death.

The IPL controversy was out in the open when Congress MP Shashi Tharoor was Minister of State for External Affairs. There were allegations that he had “misused” his office to ensure that Rs 70 crore, which was equivalent to 19 per cent equity in IPL Kochi franchise Rendezvous Sports, was paid to Sunanda.

The SIT has already quizzed  Tharoor, journalist Nalini Singh and various house hold helpers of Sunanda Pushkar at the time of carrying out the investigation. Sunanda’s son may also be called for questioning in the case, added the sources

If needed, Tharoor will be questioned again, said Bassi.
