Al Qaeda second-in-command killed in U.S. drone strike


Sana: Al Qaeda has confirmed that Nasser al-Wuhayshi, its leader in Arabian Peninsula has been killed in a US drone strike in Yemen. AQAP in an online video announced his death in which it said that its two other fighters had also died.

Al Wuhashi was known as the second-in-command and was  a private secretary to former Al Qaeda chief Osama Bin Laden.

The group in the video also named his successor. Qasim al-Raymi was named as his successor.

According to sources, it was reported previously that al-Wuhayshi was killed in an attack in Hadramawt province on Friday.
