Mumbai: Akshay Kumar’s films are always to look forward to. His next titled ‘Gold’ has already garnered much attention and appreciation ever since the first teaser for the film was unveiled. ‘Gold’ is a period-drama sports film, which is primarily set in the late 1930s to late 1940s, pre, and post-independence era. Akshay Kumar will essay the role of a Bengali gentleman who seeks to get India the gold medal at the 1948 London Olympics in hockey.
And it’s just recently that a new set of photos have emerged, in which Akshay Kumar is seen in a traditional Bengali outfit from that era. The actor is wearing a tasar kurta and a white dhoti wrapped in Bengali style.
Akshay is also seen flaunting the kind of mustache people had in earlier times. His attire is quite close to the Bengali character that he is set to portray on the big screen.
Meanwhile, there have also been reports that the film is likely to lock horns with Kangana Ranaut’s period-drama film ‘Manikarnika’. Although ‘Gold’ has reserved the Independence Day date back in 2016, the Kangana Ranaut starrer is reportedly aiming for the similar date for its release.
