Akhilesh defends his father over threatening IPS Officer


Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has defended his father and Samajwadi Party Supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav who have been accused of threatening Senior IPS Officer Amitabh Thakur.

Breaking his silence over the issue Akhilesh said, “Mulayam Singh Yadav was only trying to make Amitabh Thakur understand the things.”

He also added that Mulayam was only giving an advise to the IPS officer and nothing else even as the police officer claimed that the Samajwadi Party supremo threatened him.

On Monday Thakur and his wife who is also a social activist met the home Ministry officials and has sought a CBI probe into the rape case which has been filed against him. On Monday he met Additional Secretary of Union Home Ministry Anant Kumar Singh and has sought central protection forces for himself and his wife.

Thakum claimed that the rape case filed against him is false and has also lodged a police complaint against the SP chief.
