New Delhi: French President Francois Hollande had invited Bollywood actors Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and director Aditya Chopra for luncheon in New Delhi on 26 January (Republic Day).
The French President is on a 3-day visit to India, the highlight of which was his presence as the chief guest at the 67th Indian Republic Day celebrations. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan got an invitation from the ambassador of France to have lunch with visiting French President.
The official Twitter account of Presidency of the French Republic and the Elysee Palace shared a picture of Aishwarya meeting him for the luncheon. The tweet reads, “@ fhollande Francophiles meet several Indian personalities , including actress Aishwarya Rai #IndePR (sic).”
The luncheon is being hosted at a prominent industrialist’s residence in Delhi. Interestingly, the French authorities in the year 2012 bestowed her with their second highest civilian award – Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters (Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres) – for her contribution to arts in 2012.
Aishwarya is accompanied by her three-year-old daughter Aaradhya for the Republic Day luncheon. The two were even snapped by the lenses at the Mumbai airport when they were about to leave for Delhi.
