The range was announced all over India on Monday at multi-centre launches.
At the launch here, National Head-Data of Aircel, Sunil Kattam said the new range was in tune with the two initiatives that the company took in the name of Digital India. The objectives were to make internet available on mobiles as indispensible utilities like supply of electricity and power on one hand and making internet free for its customers, upto speeds of 64 Kbps.
The new product range means a reduction upto 60 per cent on data use by our customers. “We are confident that we can add a significant chunk of new customers apart from helping existing stay on our network with such offerings,” he said.
According to industry information, about 3 per cent of users moved to smartphone every month (36 per cent year-on-year). “India is at the cusp of innovation. There are about 26 crore smartphone users now in the country and a crore of smartphone users are getting added every month,” Mr. Sunil Kattam stated, adding that this was the huge potential that was waiting to be tapped.
