AirAsia Bans Samsung Galaxy Note 7 On All Its Flights

Chennai: In a new introduced rule to ensure safety to its passengers, AirAsia Group will not allow Samsung Galaxy Note 7 mobile phones on board effective from October 17 midnight.

The prohibition applies to all flights operated by AirAsia Group- AirAsia India, AirAsia Malaysia, AirAsia Thailand, AirAsia Indonesia, AirAsia Philippines, Malaysia AirAsia X, Thai AirAsia X and Indonesia AirAsia X.

This follows recent US Department of Transport’s ban on the device  and reports of phones catching fire. Guests are not permitted to carry Galaxy Note 7 including recalled and replacement devices on their person, in cabin bags, in check-in baggage and as cargo, said a press release.

Any guests found with the device would be denied boarding, it said.
