Aiming 2016 polls Mamata to hold Panchayaat conference

Kolkata: Keeping in mind the upcoming Vidhan Sabha elections of 2016, Trinamool supremo and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has planned to organize a Panchayaat conference on 11-12 February at Kolkata. The conference is being seen as an attempt to organize the local vote bank ahead of the polls in April next year.
TMC which is reeling under pressure of Saradha Scam is fast losing its popularity with the common mass. This conference is being seen as an attempt to restore the faith of the people in the party which walked away with a sweeping victory in the 2011 assembly polls.
In a meeting with the Zila Sabhadhipatis and District Magistrates in this week at Nabanna, the CM had announced her decision and has asked to finish off with the district level conferences before going for the Panchayaat level.
