Bhubhaneswar: TMC MP Tapas Paul, who has been arrested on Friday for alleged involvement in Rose Valley scam, was produced in the CBI special court here on Tuesday. He reportedly collapsed in the court owing to his poor health.
He is again remanded in CBI custody till January 6 as officials seek further interrogation.
Earlier, a special court on Saturday rejected the bail plea of Trinamool Congress MP Tapas Paul, and sent him to three-day CBI custody.
Paul was brought from Kolkata to Bhubhaneswar in the morning and taken to the CBI state headquarters. From there, he was sent to the Capital Hospital for medical examination before being produced in the court.
On Tuesday,another TMC MP Sudip Bandopadhyay has been arrested in connection with the Rose Valley scam. He will be taken to Bhubhaneswar on Tuesday night.
CBI to interrogate both the detained MPs in a face to face conversation. Six more influential persons will also join the interrogation.
