Suri: A number of clashes were reported between workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Trinamool Congress in West Bengal, some while candidates were filing nomination papers for the upcoming panchayat elections in the state.
Again Birbhum rocked by Panchayat violence. A clash was reported at Muhhammad Bazar block area on Saturday. Bombs and bricks was hurled. Police reached the spot and fired cells to disperse the mob.
The incident was happened when BJP delegation from Seorakuli came to submit nomination. Police stop the rally after that BJP workers burst into anger. Party members then engaged in clash with police.
Bombs were hurled in Birbhum’s Mohammad Bazar area following clash between BJP and TMC workers over filing of nominations for the panchayat polls, a district police officer said.
