New Delhi: Passengers were made to wait for hours on the bus, on the tarmac, and in the aircraft as an IndiGo airline Delhi-Guwahati flight did not have a pilot to operate the plane.
A video clicked by one of the passengers showed angry travellers arguing with the flight crew demanding that they are told about why the flight had not taken off. According to one of the commuters, the flight was scheduled to take off at 9.30 pm.
The incoming aircraft, however, arrived only at 11.20 pm.To add to the delay, when the passengers reached the aircraft, they were made to wait for another 45- 60 minutes in the bus. Angered, the commuters questioned the airline staff on why they were not being allowed to board the flight.
The passengers also alleged that there were children and elderly people on the flight, despite which, the airline made no arrangements to provide food or water to the stranded commuters.
In a statement issued on Thursday, IndiGo said that the Delhi-Guwahati flight was delayed for multiple reasons. The statement added that the flight was delayed due to adverse weather conditions besides other factors.
