Cairo: In another attack on security forces by suspected terrorist unknown gunmen on Saturday shot dead four policemen near Cairo, the Interior Ministry said.
Masked assailants opened fire on police in an area between the famed Giza pyramids west of Cairo and the Saqarra pyramids to the south, the ministry said in a statement.
No claim of responsibility was immediately made.
Scores of policemen and soldiers, mostly in the Sinai peninsula, have been killed since Egypt’s army overthrew President Mohamed Morsi in 2013.
Attacks have also targeted police and government buildings in the capital, Cairo, with several claimed by an affiliate of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
Terror attacks have multiplied in severity across the glob as Paris suffered the deaths of hundreds of innocent lives and Mali bled.
