After Italian, Japanese National Shot Dead in Bangladesh


Dhaka: After an Italian citizen was killed, unidentified assailants on Saturday shot dead a Japan national in Bangladesh’s northern district of Rangpur, an official said.

Deputy Commissioner of Rangpur Rahat Anwar said that the foreign national was shot and killed in Mahiganj area. He said he was on the way to hospital to inquiry into the murder as the victim was sent to Rangpur Medical College Hospital.

The murder of yet another foreigner came less than a week after an Italian national was killed in a similar in Dhaka’s Gulshan neighbourhood.

Italian citizen Cesare Tabella was shot dead by unidentified assailants on Monday evening. The 50-year old aid worker was employed at Netherlands-based non-governmental organisation ICCO.
