Kolkata: After the headstrong decision by the committee led by the Chief Justice of India, R.M Lodha to suspend Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings for two years in the IPL, the fate of IPL 9 stands in knee deep pool at the moment. IPL had become a religion to the fast paced generation of the times. According to some, IPL was the new signature of cricket in the 21st century. It had almost become a festival to all Indians. After such a decision of the Apex Court, it is now to be seen how the generation reacts to this judgement. Minutes after the historic verdict by the Supreme Court, facebook and twitter was flooded with status updates and tweets of the cricket frenzy generation.

sumitA self employed professional, Sumit Halder feels, this should have surfaced earlier. IPL is nothing but a money making game. It is a source of money for a certain cross section of people. He also felt ridiculous to make any comment on such a useless matter of afair. Sumit ended by saying that cricket is getting sacrificed at the altar of IPL.

atriA freelance photographer by profession Atri Bhattacharya thinks that the country should stand upto it and protest against the IPL at once to bring back the sanctity of the game.

On the other hand, according to Justice Lodha, “Its true that Mr Kundra relinquished his shares from Rajasthan Royals in March, but it was too late.Jaipur IPL team can’t shrink responsibility by saying Mr. Kundra acted in personal capacity.” Raj Kundra declared ineligible from taking part in cricket for 5 years, suspended for life from being involved with BCCI, says Lodha.
