Afghanistan to open Consul General’s Office in Kolkata

Kolkata: Mr. S.M. Ahmadi, Economic Counsellor of Afghanistan in a discussion with the President of MCCI, Mr. Arun K. Saraf this morning disclosed that they were going to set up a Consul General’s Office in Kolkata, New Town by December 2015. He was accompanied by his Deputy of the Foreigner’s Visa Section, Mr. Homayun Kamgar.
Mr. Ahmadi said he was interested in getting the proposed MOUs signed between MCCI and Export Promotion Agency of Afghanistan as well as Balk Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Kabul. The focus areas of the Consulate General would be to promote closer relations with West Bengal and India education and skill development, bilateral trade and sharing in manufacture.
