Kabul: Afghanistan Security forces killed 61 militants during special operations through the country over the past 24 hours, the Afghan Defense Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.
Dozens of militants were injured in the operations, which were carried out with the support of the Afghan Air Force and the Artillery units, according to the ministry.
Afghanistan is in a state of political and social turmoil, fighting the continuing Taliban insurgency, with other extremist groups expanding their activities in the country as well.
