Admission Row: Notice to Hansraj and Hindu College

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Friday issued notice to Delhi University’s Hansraj College and Hindu College on their admissions process. The apex court asked the colleges to respond to the notice by Monday.

A Kerala student on Thursday had filed a writ petition before the Delhi High Court challenging the Delhi University’s admission guideline to deduct 10 per cent marks from the best of four subjects of candidates coming from other State Boards.

Tabassum Ahammed, the petitioner, who has scored 100 per cent marks in best of four subjects, has alleged that he was denied admission as per Delhi University’s provisions of deducting 10 per cent from his total marks as Kerala State Education Board has a different evaluation pattern from that of CBSE.
