New Delhi: After the likes of Bhaichung Bhutia, Sunil Chhetri, Subrata Paul and Gurpreet singh Sandhu, it’s time for Delhi’s Aditi Chauhan to flout the Indian flag on the foreign soil. This twenty two year old lady who stands on the last line of defence, will now be seen donning the West Ham United’s Jersey. The English club has signed Aditi chauhan as their foreign goal keeper.
She being a foreign player inclusion, becomes the first Indian woman footballer to play for a top English Premier League Club. Aditi represented the under-19 Indian national women's team at AFC Qualifiers earlier in Malaysia. However, her footballing career started from the Under-19 trials for Delhi. She was appreciated for her contribution to India winning the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) women's cup in 2013.
West Ham Ladies are currently in the Football Association's (FA) Women's Premier League Southern Division, a league in the third level in the women's football structure in England. West Ham's senior men's team is a regular at England's top-flight football, the English Premier League.
