Kolkata: Former PCC President Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has welcomed the new committee of which he has been made the chairman. He also expressed happiness over Somen Mitra being appointed to his post.

Adhir was handling this responsibility for the past four years. Addressing the
press on Friday after the announcement, he said, “The party is suffering from

Congress leadership. But it money became irregular. The workers of Bidhan Bhawan
expressed displeasure for not getting salary. On this, Adhir said, “The Pradesh
Congress did not get any money from AICC for the past 9 months. Hence, we were
facing great difficulty to run the party.”
Adhir added, “I had informed the party’s financial condition to all top leaders of
West Bengal, but no one helped.” This proves clearly that there exists differences
of opinion within the party.
He welcomed Somen Mitra to the new post of PCC president. He also said that in the
newly formed committee, the addition of working presidents would simplify the work
of the president. He said, “Will follow whatever responsibility is given to me by
the Congress party. Will think of the future later.
