Adhir Annoyed Over Last Minute Call From Party To Meet Governor

Kolkata: Adhir Chowdhury who was recently removed as West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee president has expressed his annoyance with his close ones due to reluctant attitude of his party members regarding him. On Sunday, the new Pradesh Congress Committee president Somen Mitra went to Raj Bhavan to meet the governor demanding a CBI probe in Islampur Darivit High School student death case. All the other Pradesh Congress leaders were present in the team excluding Adhir Chowdhury.

His close aides claimed that he was invited to the Raj Bhavan ten minutes before the program. Adhir Chowdhury was informed just before ten minutes of the program Congress senior leader Pradip Bhattacharya called him up to join with the party members at Raj Bhavan. His close aides claimed, was it possible for the leader to reach Kolkata from Berhampur in ten minutes? It could have been planned and informed him before.

On questioning to Pradip Bhattacharya regarding this he said, “How could we inform him before as our program was planned just before half an hour. And the governor was not permitting for the meeting. After I requested him personally he was convinced and gave us the time to meet him within 7pm. When I called Adhir he told me that he was at the airport and he can not come. If anybody take this otherwise than I don’t have anything to say.”
