New Delhi: Security has been tightened ahead of Obama’s visit to India. It has been hiked along the international border after specific inputs of an infiltration by Lashkar-e-Taiba trained terrorists into India ahead of US President Barack Obama’s visit.
According to sources, second line of security has been enforced with 10 additional companies of Border Security Force being deployed along the border.
Meanwhile, the United States has also warned Pakistan of any cross-border un-wanted action during Obama’s trip to India. The US had subtly indicated of the “consequences” regarding any such attack on the Republic Day
The US and Indian security agencies are taking extra care for Obama as he will be on an open air platform at Rajpath for more than two hours, witnessing the Republic day parade.
The Indian government is also likely to break the Republic Day tradition this year by letting Obama, Chief Guest of the parade, to travel in his own car instead of traveling in President Pranab Mukherjee’s car from Rashtrapati Bhawan to Rajpath.
Instead, both Presidents are expected to travel in Obama’s car. The car, which is called ‘The Beast’, will have flags of both countries on it. The External Affairs Ministry is confident of ensuring that Obama and his wife Michelle have a comfortable stay in India.
