Kolkata: Actor Vikram Chatterjee on Wednesday reaches Tollygunge police station in a gap of twelve hours with his lawyer in Sonika Chouhan accident case. He summoned for second time. Earlier, Vikram went to Tollygunge police station on Tuesday night. He was accompanied by a lawyer and his father. Soon after this, the investigating officer of Sonika Chauhan death case started questioning him.
This is the first time that the actor has been questioned by police over the death of famed model Sonika Chauhan who died in a car accident at Rash Behari in south Kolkata in the wee hours of 29 April. Sonika was returning home after a late-night party and the car was being wheeled by Vikram.
Sonika’s friend are running a Facebook campaign #Justiceforsonika alleging that Vikram was drunk-driving the car and this was the reason for the accident that snuffed out the life of the young model. In support of the allegation they have also posted a video that shows Vikram holding a drink glass and dancing next to Sonika at a pub on Park Street.
Police have come under severe criticism for alleged delayed investigation in the case as Vikram is known to state youth affairs minister Aroop Biswas. The minister had gone to see Vikram at the private hospital where the actor remained admitted for non-critical injury until 4 May.
