Accident Kills 7 in Uttar Pradesh on Muharram Night


Sambhal: A tragic accident in Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal killed 7 people and injured 30 others after two tractors carrying Muharram celebrators collided on Saturday night, police said.

The deceased have been identified as Sahidat (50), Hamsijan (55), Khatun (35), Aur Meeraj (10), Nanni (8) and Shanealam (4). The injured have been rushed to Aligarh, Muradabad and Badayun Hospital.

The deceased were all residents of Sambhal district’s Semri and Kharpari village.

Police said, that the villagers were returning to their home on Tractors after taking part in Tajia, Muharram. The accident took place as two speeding vehicles in order to outpace each other lost control and rammed into each other.

The accident killed seven people on the spot. Police along with the villagers rushed to the spot and rescued the victims.
