Kolkata: Trinamool Supremo Mamata Banerjee’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee threats to lodge FIR against Mukul Roy over Biswa Bangla remark. Earlier, Mukul Roy, one of the co-founders of the Trinamool Congress who recently joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), on Friday alleged that Abhishek Banerjee had got the party’s electoral symbol registered as his own with the trademark registration authorities.
Abishek’s lawyer will send the notice to the Mukul Roy. Abhishek also said that if this allegation shall not be proved by Mukul within seven days then I will take steps. The former Trinamul Rajya Sabha member waved a sheaf of papers in the air to claim that he would “expose corruption” within Trinamul and the Mamata government. “The Trinamul Congress, which I had founded along with Mamata Banerjee, has turned into a private limited company,” he said.
At the BJP rally in Esplanade, which saw an estimated crowd of over 15,000, Roy also attacked the Trinamul mouthpiece Jago Bangla, saying that, too, was owned by Abhishek. “In fact, Trinamul’s logo, in any form, is a copyright of Abhishek and not of the party,” Roy claimed.
But Atri Bhattacharya, West Bengal’s home secretary, said that Biswa Bangla trademark was created by the chief minister and it was given to the state government for official use. It isn’t anybody’s private property, he said.
