Port Elizabeth: After changing the A-B-C-D of cricket, the person who has been referred as the ‘Messi’ of Cricket, AB de Villiers has been nominated for the second year in a row for the coveted South African Cricketer of the Year award. Cricket South Africa’s annual award evening will take place on June 3 at Gallagher Estate in Midrand, Johannesburg.
Commenting on the judging process, convener of the judging panel, Aslam Khota said that it took a long time for the panel to finalise the nominees as they were blessed with excellent and consistent performances, both on national and international front. The South Africa captain batsman will compete against Hashim Amla, Dale Steyn, Morne Morkel and Faf Du Plessis for the top most honour. On the other hand, ABD has been nominated for the ODI cricketer of the year as well.
