Aarushi Murder Case: SC Admits CBI Plea Against Acquittal

New Delhi: The Supreme Court said that the CBI’s appeal in the Aarushi murder case,
will be heard along with the plea which was filed by Hemraj’s wife. Hemraj was also found dead the next day on May 17, 2008. Hemraj was the Talwar’s domestic help.

The court has also sent notice to Rajesh and Nupur Talwar, who were freed in October. Both the dentist couples were accused in the 2008 double murder case of their 14-year-old daughter Aarushi and domestic help Hemraj in Noida.

The Allahabad High Court had acquitted the couple in October 12 2017, saying that
they could not be held guilty on the basis of the evidence on record and a CBI court decision convicting them and sentencing them to life.

In March this year, the CBI filed an appeal in the Supreme Court challenging the Allahabad high court order acquitting the Talwar couple in the double murder in their residence.

The CBI submitted a closure report in the case on December 29, 2008 giving a clean chit to servants, but pointing fingers at the parents.
