Aamir’s 3 Idiots Gets Mexican Remake Named 3 Idiotas


Mumbai: The 2009 Hindi blockbuster starring Aamir Khan has been remade in Spanish by Mexican filmmaker Carlos Bolado and it is called 3 Idiotas.

The movie 3 Idiotas, is set in a college in Mexico and revolves around the lives of three young college students, one of whom falls in love with the daughter of the college dean. Much later in life, these friends embark on a journey determined to find their lost college roommate who disappeared without a trace after graduation day.

The makers have released the trailer recently. 3 Idiots Producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra has been credited as one of the executive producers of the Mexican remake. Also, Rajkumar Hirani has been credited with writing the story on the Wikipedia page of 3 Idiotas.

Alfonso Dosal, Christian Vázquez and Germán Valdés have stepped into the roles played by Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi and R Madhavan. Martha Higareda is playing the character played by Kareena Kapoor in the original movie.

In November 2016, the makers of the movie had released a teaser trailer of the film.

This is not the first time that 3 Idiots has been remade. The movie was first remade in Tamil as Nanban (2012).

The Mexican version of 3Idiots, 3 Idiotas is set to hit theatres on June 2.
