New Delhi: Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar met a film crew on the eve of his 42nd birthday, according to reports. A Pune based leading daily reported that the filming for a yet-to-be-name docu-feature on the batting maestro is going on.
In March, Tendulkar took to Twitter to announce the news about the movie and invited his fans to suggest an ideal title for the docu-feature. And producers of the film are reportedly targeting a 2016 release on big screens.
A twitter handle under the self-explanatory name, ‘The Sachin Project’ has revealed anecdotes and snippets from the upcoming film.
The film is being directed by well-known British director-producer James Erskine. Erskine was nominated for an Emmy Award in Outstanding Non-Fiction Special category for his 2010 sports documentary, One Night in Turin, based on the super-rich English Premier League stars. He is also known for documentary The Human Face (2001) and thriller EMR (2004).
Now a co-owner of Indian Super League football franchise Kerala Blasters, cricket’s most prolific run maker and compiler of a staggering 100 international hundreds is currently occupied with the Indian Premier League franchise Mumbain Indians.
