State Govt Announces To Provide Aadhar Cards


Kolkata: The Chief Secretary of West Bengal, Basudeb Banerjee announced on Saturday that the state will prepare aadhar cards from then onwards.

As per the directives, the chief secretary has informed all district magistrates to work to succeed in what the state has planned for. A special team has been set up for working on the matter, as per Nabanna sources.

According to the regulations, the centre provides aadhar card to the people. This step by the Mamata Banerjee government is the first in the country. The state is in continuous talks with the centre so that this initiative does not get a red signal.

During the second term of the UPA government, Aadhar cards were provided. Then in 2014, Narendra Modi came in power. Inspite of their completion of 2 years in the government, they have failed invariably in providing aadhar cards to atleast crores of citizens.
