Bolpur: 80 crude bombs were recovered from the house of a TMC leader Saroj Ghosh in Nanur’s Bono village in Birbhum on Sunday night. According to reports, apart from the bombs, bomb-making material was also recovered in the police raid.
Bomb disposal squad today went Saroj Ghosh’s house and recovered the explosive. Later they disposed the bomb and explosives in a remote place in the village.
Crude bombs are widely used in political violence in West Bengal. Recently, two people were killed in a blast at the house of a Trinamool leader in Amodpur village. The blast occurred as a crude bomb exploded, bringing the entire house down.
