Patna: 72 children fell ill on Tuesday after having mid-day meal at two government schools in Bihar. While Sixty children fell ill after consuming the meal at Mathia Middle School in Bhojpur, 12 children fell ill after consuming the meal at Musahar Middle school at Aural in Muzaffarpur.
All of them has been shifted to the Sadar hospital in Ara but the condition of four students have deteriorated prompting the district authorities to refer them to Patna Medical College and Hospital for treatment.
According to a official, “The children will be discharged soon.”
The samples of the meals have been collected by police for forensic examination. According to the officials, some children said a lizard was found in the meal which was served to them. However doctors who examined the children have said that they didn’t find any traces of poison in the children.
According to a district official, “All the children are out of danger and their condition is stable after preliminary treatment at the hospital.”
In Muzaffarpur panic spread among the student after a lizard was found in the meal. Twelve children were admitted to the hospital after they developed symptoms of vomiting and loose motions.
