Mohta’s lawyer Rajdeep said, “70 films were given under Shri Venkatesh Films banner
by taking 25 crore rupees from Rose Valley. Goutam Kundu filed a case in the court
saying that there are technical problems in some of the films. We have submitted
documents about the statements we gave in that case, to the CBI.”

According to the CBI, Shrikant Mohta’s name cropped up while interrogating Goutam
Kundu. Due to this, he was summoned and questioned for 3 hours. His statements were
recorded too. After examining the documents submitted by him, the next steps will
be taken.

The CBI has recently taken up the responsibility to solve the ongoing chit-fund
scams in the state and some of the neighbouring states. Along with Sarada and
Sahara chit fund scams, they are also investigating the Rose Valley scam. Rose
Valley owner Goutam Kundu is presently lodged in jail.
