5,000 Litres Of Chemical Leaks As Dozens Evacuated In London

London: Officers arrived at the Brimsdown business area, Enfield, in response to the incident at a chemical works.

A spokeswoman for London Fire Brigade said 5,000 litres of toxic iron sulphate solution had seeped out. A 25m cordon has been set up and at least 40 people have been evacuated from nearby homes.

Police were called at 16.46 following reports of an explosion at the Johnson Matthey chemical plant in the Brisdown business area in Enfield.
