Cairo: At least five policemen were killed and 10 others, including civilians, injured on Wednesday after a suicide bomber attacked into a police club in Egypt’s restive North Sinai.
The blast in the residential area completely demolished the club and also a number of nearby cars, officials reported. The security forces covered the area and the injured were taken to the hospital. Some of the injured are critical, medical officials said.
The attacks targeting police and military increased after the ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi in 2013 by the military following massive protests against his rule.
