40 member CBI team visits Bhopal to take up Vyapam scam

Bhopal: After taking over the charges of the Vyapam scam a forty member CBI team has on Monday visited Bhopal and held talks with the Special Task Force of the Madhya Pradesh police that was probing the scam. They will be taking over the investigation in the coming days. According to sources, it has been known that the scam is so widely spread that it would take the CBI nearly one month to take over the full charges of the investigation.

The probe has been handed over to the agency’s Delhi based Anti corruption unit which has jurisdiction all over India and has probed several big scams over the years including the Augusta Westland and Tatra trucks and has also probed several disproportionate assets cases against several high profile politicians including Mulayam Singh Yadav and Mayawati.
